Medical Care in Norway

In general, Norway is a safe country and there are very little health concerns. The health system proves successful in both Norwegian private and public hospitals. However, it is rare to find quality health services in more remote locations, especially in the north of Norway. If you require medical care, you should get treatment from the Norwegian National Hospital.

Pharmacies are open daily and offer a wide range of medicines. Regardless, ensure to take a medical kit if visiting the country.

Ambulance service can be reached by calling 113 in the event of a medical emergency. Medical evacuation is available for more serious medical problems.
