St Helena Island offers basic medical services. There is one general hospital in Jamestown and many rural health clinics dotted around the island. In the event of a more serious illness or accident, medical evacuation to South Africa or the United Kingdom may be required. Make sure to purchase medical insurance which covers medical repatriation.
