Togo Travel Vaccines and Advice

While traveling to Togo, please keep in mind some routine vaccines such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, etc.

Togo is also referred to as the “Smile of Africa” because of its warm and welcoming population. The locals, some of which are Kabyés, Tems or Adja-Tado, share their history and culture in the form of colourful markets, traditional music or their turreted mud houses. You will be exposed to references to Togo’s turbulent past which are best explored through museums or monuments. The country also offers many natural attractions such as turquoise waters perfect for bathing, fishing and hiking. The parks of Fazao-Malfakassa and Oto-Mandouri reserves will also impress nature lovers.

Togo suffers from under-equipped health centers and poor human resources.  If you need to go to a health center, you can be treated at the Bethesda Clinic or the Lome Surgical Clinic.

Pharmacies are scare in the country, and medical supplies or medicines prove difficult to source. It is best to equip yourself with a first aid kit especially if you plan to leave the big cities.
