Not only will you catch glimpses of sloths lounging in the trees, but you will also be able to dive to see the whales on the coastline. If you are hoping for a tranquil holiday, the small island of Eua with its endless stretch of coastline caters to your needs. Tonga also has a rich historical heritage, showcased with its modern and colonial architecture best experienced by strolling through urban areas. History enthusiasts should visit the 12th-century Victorian Royal Palace of the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua. The business district is also worth a visit, as is Mu’a which is home to intriguing royal tombs and stone pyramids.

Medical Care in Tonga

Whilst medical care is sufficient in Tonga, be aware that Public hospitals are limited to treating common illnesses. If you would like a better quality of care, you should seek treatment from private health centers. For instance, the German Clinic provides all types of care. Another option for quality care is the Prince Wellington Ngu Talau Hospital.

In main cities, you can easily access drugs and basic medical supplies in both pharmacies and hospitals. If you require more specific medication, you will need to bring it yourself with your medicine kit.

In the event of a medical emergency call 933, but note that you will need to undertake medical evacuation by air for more serious medical problems or accidents.
