Yemen Travel Vaccines and Advice

While traveling to Yemen, please keep in mind some routine vaccines such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, etc.

If you are fascinated by tales from the legendary “Queen of Sheba” then take a trip to Yemen to hear stories from the locals. A warm place with a comfortable living environment, Yemen also offers many activities for tourists. The beaches, high mountains, green valleys, plateaus, wadis and the citadels are all sights to see in this destination. To experience the historical assets of Yemen, wander in ancient cities like Sana’a, the capital. These urban centers are adorned with remarkable architecture such as mosques, well worth discovering. You can also explore Yemen from another angle by taking a boat tour or relaxing on the coastal strips of Tihama. These will provide real moments of sunshine bliss.

Medical Care in Yemen

The care system offered is limited in Yemen, particularly in regions outside of Sana’a and Aden.

Be aware that although you can find many pharmacies in large cities, the medicines sold are not well regulated. You should always prepare an emergency medical kit with basic supplies and prescribed medication.

Ambulance services in Yemen are insufficient, and you should not rely on medical help in case of an emergency. However, you can always dial 199 for emergency assistance. Note that many regions do not have access to these services. The Yemeni-German Hospital offers an ambulance service. The Azal Hospital is also a great option. In more serious cases, medical evacuation will be necessary.
