The care system offered is limited in Yemen, particularly in regions outside of Sana’a and Aden.
Be aware that although you can find many pharmacies in large cities, the medicines sold are not well regulated. You should always prepare an emergency medical kit with basic supplies and prescribed medication.
Ambulance services in Yemen are insufficient, and you should not rely on medical help in case of an emergency. However, you can always dial 199 for emergency assistance. Note that many regions do not have access to these services. The Yemeni-German Hospital offers an ambulance service. The Azal Hospital is also a great option. In more serious cases, medical evacuation will be necessary.
