Medical Care in Angola
If traveling to Angola, it is strongly recommended to bring a full emergency health kit with you because it is difficult to locate certain types of medication in the country. In addition, hospital and emergency services can be inefficient, poor and unreliable. Medical facilities of a fairly reliable standard can be found in Luanda, such as Sagrada Esperança Clinic or Clinica da Mutamba / Medigroup, which offer 24-hour emergency services and basic mid-level care. In addition, the Americo Boavida hospital offers dialysis services.
Hospitals exist in other regions, but many of these offer a poor quality of care. In some cases, the lack of medical equipment and drugs, unfortunately, has the reverse effect; increasing the hospital mortality rate.
To access an ambulance, call 116.
