In Sudan, medical care proves unsatisfactory, if not mediocre. The same can even be said of service in the capital Khartoum. If you venture outside of big cities, healthcare is impossible to find. The Ibn Khaldoon Hospital or the Modern Medical Center can offer treatment if you require hospitalization, but there are also many private clinics which provide satisfactory care. They are open at night, except on Fridays and Sundays. Serious medical problems in Sudan will require emergency medical evacuation by plane.
It is important to be aware that pharmacies in urban areas are not well supplied, and therefore you should bring a first aid kit with all of your usual medications.

Do I Need a Visa to Visit Sudan?
Prior to travel, make sure you check with your transportation company about any passport requirements. This is important as in some cases their regulations on passport validity may be more strict than those of the destination country.
Both, a visa and a passport are required to enter Sudan. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure. When applying for the visa, make sure you give it at least two months before leaving for Sudan.
A permit is also required if you are travelling outside of Khartoum.
