The health system in Chad remains in a crisis. Public hospitals only provide first aid care, and you will find it difficult to access medical supplies and medicines. Even basic drugs are prove scarce, both in hospitals and big city pharmacies.

If you plan on making a trip to Chad, you should pack a pharmacy kit with you to anticipate any medical problems that could arise.

If an emergency situation occurs, you can call +235 225 17728, but you should use a private car to travel to the nearest hospital. Most foreigners choose to use private health services such as the International SOS or the Health Center at the French Embassy.
