The US health system successfully meets international standards, primarily based on quality of care and patient safety. The country demands access to high quality care, particularly in university and community hospitals. As an alternative to emergency services, it is recommended to use a medical centre closer to your accommodation or home care which proves cheaper than hospital emergency services.
Ensure to avoid private emergency care centres as these are extremely expensive. Although pharmacies are well supplied, it is recommended to pack basic drugs as you must have a prescription to buy any medicine in the US.
