Syria provides an unsatisfactory health care system which fails to meet the western norm. Medical care is accessible in major cities, but not in other regions.
If you need to access medication, Al-Jahez and Ghada pharmacies are well-supplied with quality pharmaceuticals. However, it is important to remember to bring a first aid kit, especially if you are visiting remote regions. You will be able to access a sufficient ambulance service in Syria.
For public hospital emergency services, you must call 110. The Red Cross is also a great option. You can also request an ambulance service at Shami Private Hospital in Damascus.

Do I Need a Visa to Visit Syria?
Prior to travel, make sure you check with your transportation company about any passport requirements. This is important as in some cases their regulations on passport validity may be more strict than those of the destination country.
Both, a visa and a passport are required to enter Syria. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure.
Non-Arabs nationals may not acquire a visa upon entry; they must get it from a Syrian embassy or consulate before travelling.
