Whilst the medical facilities and resources are not very reliable outside of the city, many foreigners opt for the well-equipped private hospitals and clinics offered by Albania. Many of these are American, German, Italian or Greek hospitals. Most are located in Tirana and offer quality care akin to European standards such as the ABC Health Center or the Orthodox Clinic . Be prepared to pay for consultations and treatments in cash.
Emergency services in Tirana are open to the public 24 hours a day, but they’re often of lesser quality their private counterparts. Access to air ambulance service is very limited.
Although local pharmacies are all licensed and sell non-prescription drugs, be aware that not all pharmaceuticals have been subjected to rigorous quality control. It is recommended to bring your prescriptions and a first aid kit of your own supplies because it is difficult to find certain medicines in Albania.

Do I Need a Visa to Visit albania?
Before you travel, check with your transportation company about passport requirements. Its rules on passport validity may be more stringent than the country’s entry rules.
