Medical Care in the Solomon Islands

It is rare to find good medical care in the Solomon Islands, and the quality of public hospitals has significantly declined since 2001. It is currently difficult to find medical services in line with international standards. If you require hospitalization, seek treatment at the Central National Referral Hospital. You can also go to the Helena Goldie Hospital. If you experience more serious medical problems, you will most likely be medically evacuated.

Pharmaceuticals prove difficult to access, and pharmacies are especially rare outside of major cities. Therefore, it is important to keep a medical kit with you at all times.

For medical emergencies, dial 911.
